Dekh Indian Circus + Q&A

Actor Tannishtha Chatterjee discusses her role in Dekh Indian Circus, a Rajasthan-set drama which premiered as part of the 2012 London Indian Film Festival. Chatterjee praises director Mangesh Hadawale's understated approach to questioning the Indian political system through his work, and his decision to explore a male-dominated society from the perspective of a woman.

She also reflects on her reputation in India as the 'princess of parallel cinema', explaining that she actively seeks out challenging and interesting roles in independent films, and is often unimpressed by the portrayal of women in mainstream Bollywood fare.
