This year, in celebration of 60th anniversary of the BFI London Film Festival, we have created a beautiful new cinema in the heart of London: Embankment Garden Cinema. Built specially for the Festival, and open between 6-16 October, it is a high-quality fully-enclosed temporary cinema, nestled in the tranquil surroundings of Victoria Embankment Gardens.

The venue includes cinema-style seating, Dolby® 7.1 surround sound and 4k digital projection. It is wheelchair accessible and has provision for Audio Description, an induction loop and other Access-supported screenings. Snacks and drinks are available from a licensed bar on arrival.

Victoria Embankment Gardens is a peaceful tree-lined green space close to the Thames. It is one minute’s walk from Embankment station, and two minutes from Charing Cross. The Gardens feature the historical Watergate, built in 1626 as an entrance to the Thames for the Duke of Buckingham, as well as statues of figures such as John Stuart Mill, and a memorial to the poet Robert Burns.

Tickets can only be purchased through the London Film Festival website, in person at BFI Southbank or by calling 020 7928 3232. No tickets are available directly from the venue.

Subject to final planning approval.
