LFF opening gala Captain Phillips screens across UK

Thirty towns and cities across the UK and Ireland will screen Captain Phillips with a live satellite link to the Festival opening night.

The 57th BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express® will open on Wednesday 9 October with the European Premiere of Captain Phillips, directed by acclaimed Academy Award nominee Paul Greengrass (United 93, The Bourne Supremacy) and starring two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Philadelphia), both of whom will walk the red carpet along with Barkhad Abdi and producers Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca.

The excitement, glamour and interviews from the red carpet at London’s Odeon Leicester Square will be beamed into Cineworld cinemas around the country from 7:00pm (doors open at 6:45pm) followed by the European Premiere of Captain Phillips. Click here for your tickets.
