This Way Up: Exhibition Innovation conference set for Glasgow

Early bird tickets are now on sale for the third edition of the conference which looks at audience behaviours, emerging trends, and the future of cinema.

Reduced price Early Bird tickets are now on sale for the third edition of This Way Up: Exhibition Innovation conference for the film exhibition sector, which will be held at Glasgow Film Theatre (29-30 November). The conference will be one of the first events to be hosted by the newly refurbished venue, which is currently undergoing a major renovation.

This Way Up 16 is a two-day gathering of film exhibitors, which will explore new ideas in audience behaviours, look at emerging trends, and discuss the future of cinema. Now in its third edition, TWU has established itself as the key event in the film calendar where the sector meets to learn from each other, hear from innovators across art forms, listen to key speakers, and participate in panel discussions and workshops on the pressing topics facing the industry.

Jointly organised by three hubs within the BFI’s Film Audience Network: Film Hub North, Film Hub North West Central and Film Hub Scotland, This Way Up 16 also welcomes Creative Europe Desk UK and Veezi as event partners.

Last year’s conference — in December 2015 at HOME, Manchester — sold out, attracting delegates from all over Europe and as far afield as Brisbane, Australia. It featured representatives from the BFI, National Theatre of Scotland, Dogwoof, Daily Telegraph, Abandon Normal Devices, Picturehouse Entertainment, FutureEverything, Curzon Home Cinema, Screen Yorkshire, Showroom Workstation, Independent Cinema Office, Cinema Nation, Little White Lies, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Screen and BBCTV, amongst others.

Early Bird delegate passes for This Way Up 16 are priced £95 (standard ticket £130). BFI Film Audience Network members can apply for bursary support from their respective Film Hubs.

Speakers and full programme will be announced later in the year.
