The Best Film Award recognises inspiring, inventive and distinctive filmmaking. The Sutherland Award recognises the most original and imaginative directorial debut. The Grierson Award, in Partnership with the Grierson Trust, recognises documentaries with integrity, originality, and social or cultural significance.
