Leonard Nimoy has died, aged 83

Nimoy is best known as Star Trek’s Mr Spock, but also directed two Star Trek films and the blockbuster comedy Three Men and a Baby.

Actor Leonard Nimoy, best known for playing Mr Spock in the long-running TV and film series Star Trek, has died at the age of 83.

His directing credits include two Star Trek films, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986), and the comedy Three Men and a Baby (1987).

Other notable films Nimoy appeared in include the 50s monster movie Them! (1954) and the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. On TV, he appeared in episodes of Dragnet, Gunsmoke, The Twilight Zone, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Mission: Impossible, Columbo, The Simpsons, The Outer Limits and Futurama.

His final tweet has so far been retweeted over 80,000 times.
