Set against the backdrop of the Cold War, Pawel Pawlikowski’s latest film – the fourth best of the year in Sight & Sound’s 2018-in-review poll – charts the highs and lows of a turbulant love affair between a composer and a folk singer in a touring song and dance troupe. The mismatched souls, loosely based on Pawlikowski’s own parents, find themselves at conflict and across borders in the deeply political times they are living in.
The film makes its way to DVD and Blu-ray on 7 January 2019 courtesy of Curzon Artificial Eye. Bonus features include three featurettes, a music video and the film’s trailer. We have five Blu-ray copies to give away.
The competition closes on Thursday 7 Feb 2019 and is open to UK residents only.
