Krzysztof Kieslowski’s A Short Film About Killing and A Short Film About Love come to Blu-ray this July. Courtesy of Curzon Artificial Eye we have three sets of the films to give away.
A Short Film About Killing is a powerful moral indictment of capital punishment – a senseless murder takes place of a taxi driver by a young drifter who is then sentanced to a cold, calculating execution. A Short Film About Love centers on a young man who falls in love with an older woman who lives across the courtyard in the same Warsaw apartment block.
Each film is expanded from two of the original ten TV episodes which made up Kieslowski’s celebrated cycle of short films based on the Ten Commandments, Dekalog.
Both Blu-rays have a host of extras including presentations of the film by film director Thierry Jousse and actor interviews. A Short Film About Killing also features an interview with filmmaker Agneszka Holland and DoP Slawomir Idziak.
The competition closes on Thursday 8 Aug 2019 and is open to UK residents only.
