Oscars 2022: the nominations in full
Jane Campion’s western The Power of the Dog leads the race with 12 nominations.

Jane Campion’s western drama The Power of the Dog has emerged as the frontrunner after the announcement of this year’s Academy Award nominations. Its 12 nominations include best picture, best director and four acting nominations, including best actor for Benedict Cumberbatch.
Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune follows with 10 nominations, while Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast and Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story both have seven.
Belfast sees nominations for Branagh himself for best director and best original screenplay, as well as for Judi Dench as best supporting actress and Ciarán Hands as best supporting actor. Other British talents among the nominations include Olivia Colman, who is up for best actress for The Lost Daughter, while Andrew Garfield is nominated as best actor for Tick, Tick … Boom!
Among the nominated films that screened at the BFI London Film Festival are The Power of the Dog, Belfast, Drive My Car, King Richard, The Lost Daughter, Spencer, The Worst Person in the World, The Tragedy of Macbeth, The Hand of God, Flee, Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom and the animated short film Robin Robin.
The winners will be announced on 27 March 2022.
